Event Terms – Oceans and Environment

All events listed on or promoted via www.oceansandenvironment.com.au are hosted by the event organiser Oceans and Environment

Terms and Conditions
"Event" refers to any activity including (but not limited to) a Workshop, Breakfast Briefing, Seminar, Conference, Roundtable, Symposium, Livestream, or Webinar hosted or convened by Oceans and Environment, a Jazcorp Australia Pty Ltd subsidiary

Tickets
Delegates must present a valid ticket—either printed or digital—at entry for verification. Entry may be denied without proper ticket presentation.

Refunds and Cancellations
No refunds are offered unless the event is cancelled by the Event Organiser. In the case of a government-declared lockdown or state of emergency, the organiser reserves the right to reschedule or postpone the event. If a delegate is unable to attend the new date, tickets may be transferred to another individual. Transfer details must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the event.

Payment
Full registration and payment must be completed no later than 24 hours before the event. The organiser reserves the right to deny entry to unpaid registrants.

Substitutions and Registration Policy
Registrations are non-transferable between individuals during the event. Each ticket is valid for one delegate only.

Competition and Conflict of Interest
Oceans and Environment reserves the right to decline attendance by companies, businesses, or organisations that offer competing services or pose a conflict of interest with the event’s purpose and partners.

Program and Schedule Changes
The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the event program, including speakers, schedule, or venue, if necessary. Should the event be rescheduled, Oceans and Environment will not be held responsible for any associated personal costs.

Speakers and Content Disclaimer
The views and opinions expressed by speakers are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of Oceans and Environment. Event materials, livestreams, and speaker presentations are intended for general informational purposes and do not constitute legal, financial, environmental, or professional advice. If a speaker is unable to attend, a replacement of comparable expertise may be appointed. Notice of any changes will be shared where possible.

Content Use and Responsibility
Delegates are expected to engage respectfully. Oceans and Environment cannot be held liable for any communications, content, or opinions shared by other participants. Event content is provided in good faith but may contain views or materials that some attendees may find disagreeable. Delegates attend and participate at their own discretion.

Photography and Recording Consent
By attending, you grant Oceans and Environment the right to photograph, film, and record your image and/or voice for use in promotional and educational materials. If you do not consent to this, please notify the organiser in writing at least 14 days before the event at environment@jazcorpaustralia.com.au 

Insurance
It is the responsibility of each delegate to arrange their own insurance for travel, accommodation, and personal belongings. The organiser is not liable for lost or stolen items or costs incurred due to changes in travel plans or event attendance.

Livestream and Webinar Privacy
Participation in online events requires certain personal information to facilitate webinar access. This information may be shared with trusted third-party service providers solely for operational purposes. All efforts are made to protect your data in accordance with privacy regulations. However, the organiser is not responsible for unauthorised access due to hacking or malicious activity.

Waiver of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oceans and Environment and its agents, contractors, and partners disclaim all liability for any loss, injury, damage, or expense incurred in connection with participation in any event, including digital or physical attendance and speaker presentations.

Final Statement
Your registration for any Oceans and Environment event indicates your agreement to these terms.

Our events are built to connect sectors, promote knowledge-sharing, and encourage action for the future of our oceans, coastlines, and broader environmental systems.
