Call for Abstracts – Queensland Oceans & Reef Protection Summit 2026
The Queensland Oceans & Reef Protection Summit 2026 invites researchers, policymakers, Indigenous leaders, industry experts, and conservation practitioners to submit abstracts for consideration. This is your opportunity to share innovative research, case studies, policy insights, and practical solutions in reef and marine protection with an audience of national and international leaders.

Themes & Topics
We welcome submissions across the following thematic areas:

Governance & Policy: Reef management frameworks, compliance strategies, domestic and international treaty alignment

Climate & Environmental Resilience: Coral bleaching, marine heatwaves, adaptive management, restoration science

Indigenous Leadership & Co-Governance: Traditional Owner-led stewardship, cultural knowledge integration, co-management frameworks

Science & Innovation: Coral reef restoration, biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem modelling, applied research

Sustainable Blue Economy: Sustainable fisheries, ecotourism, marine renewable energy, coastal development, carbon market integration

Practical Conservation Solutions: Field-based initiatives, restoration programs, community engagement, hands-on reef protection

Submissions that demonstrate interdisciplinary collaboration, practical implementation, measurable outcomes, or innovative technologies are highly encouraged.

Submission Guidelines
Abstract Format:

Title: 15 words max
-
Authors: Include full name, affiliation, and email address

Abstract: 300–400 words
-
Keywords: Up to 5 relevant keywords
-
Format: Word or PDF, 12pt font, single-spaced
-
Presentation Types:

Oral Presentation (20–30 minutes)
-
Panel Discussion (moderated, up to 3 speakers)

Poster Presentation (visual summary of research or project)

Language: English

Originality: Submissions must be original work not previously published or presented at other conferences.

Conflict of Interest: Any financial or professional conflicts must be disclosed.

All abstracts must be submitted by emailing oceansandenvironment@jazcorpaustralia.com.au with complete author details and abstract content. Authors are encouraged to indicate their preferred presentation format.
